INVALID BATH WANTED

PROSPECTS AT MORERE REQUEST TO MINISTER INVESTIGATION NEEDED (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. The establishment of a special bath for invalids at Morere was urged upon the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, Advertising and Pensions, when he passed through Wairoa yesterday afternoon on his way from Rotorua to Napier.

A deputation suggested that the curative properties of the waters at Morere warranted special provision being made by the Government tor ihe treatment of advanced cases of rheumatic trouble, and Dr. J. Ros< maintained that thousands of such patients might be cured for an expenditure of £lO each. Dr. explained the requirements of a special invalid bath for steam treatment. The question of situation was discussed, and it was suggested that the bath should be placed a short distance from tiie road. A carriageway and a light car might have to lie provided. Before proceeding with the work, it was explained, it would lie necessary to secure a report on the method of harnessing the water and to secure the separation of the iodised from the nmriated waters. The bath should lie for use by patients under medical prescription, and special housing would be necessary for patients to lie down in the water.

The Minister -replied that he would place the matter before the Minister of Health.
