MR. PARRY AT WAIROA TRIP VIA WAIKAREMOANA (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. A visit was paid to Wairoa yesterday afternoon by the lion. \\. K. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs. Publicity and Pensions,

lie travelled from Rotorua, via the Waikaremoana scenic route, and arrived during the late afternoon, leaving shortly afterwards for Napier, lie was accompanied by Mrs. Parry. Mr. A. E. Moncnr, M.P. for Rotorua. Mr. Poulton and Miss Andrews, private secretaries to the Minister.

The .Ministerial party was delayed on the road owing to a breakdown, and the Minister did not have an opportunity of seeing much of the scenic beauties surrounding Waikaremoana. However, when ho arrived ill Wairoa, he expressed himself as charmed with what he saw of the lake.

A number of deputations, waited on Mr. Parry at. the Borough Council chambers,' matters of local interest, including the provision of a stock route to avoid cattle traffic in the borough by the reopening of the liuiamua railway bridge, and steps to prevent serious erosion, by the river at North Clyde. Most of the matters brought to the Minister’s notice were not the direct concern of his department* but lie promised' to see .that the representations made to him went through the proper channels.
