NEW TENNIS CLUB

FORMED AT BARTLETT’S

COMMITTEES ELECTED (Herald Correspondent.) On Monday evening a general meeting was convened at Bartlett’s l<> form a tennis •club. Mr. F. Milrov took the place of the convener, Mr. Hunt, who was unable to be present owing to having met with a slight accident. Twenty-three people attended and they decided to form a tennis club, to be called Bartlett’s Tennis Club. A committee was formed, the .following being elected: —Chairman, Mr. J. Hector; secretary, Mr. E. A. Smith; committee, Mesdames Horst., Walters and Hunt, .Messrs. Arnott .and Walters. Mr. W. L. Bell, assistant engineer, was made patron to the club.

The .committee was empowered to make inquiries for a suitable position for courts and go into the cost of forming them.

It was decided that; the subscription for gentlemen should be 15s per season .and ladies 10s. A social committee also was .formed, Mesdn.rnes Walters, Hunt, Burst, Ifeikel and Anderson, Messrs. Carswell, Woods and Piernml being elected.
