All negotiations with the Government have been completed in connection with the Cobb hydro-electric scheme at Nelson. The Hume Cobb Company .has been registered and tenders have been accepted for the road Info the Cobb and Diesel standby plant at Stoke. The company offered to proceed with the creel ion of the standby plant first in order to tide Nelson and district over threatened shortages of power pending completion of the Cobb hydro-electric scheme.
