The Paris correspondent of the Manchester Guardian says there seems no longer to be any mystery about tbe visit to Paris of the German Minister of Economy and president of Hie Reichsbank, Dr. Scliaeht-.
He arrived with a- verbal message from Herr Hitler to the effect that France need not he alarmed about German rearmament, which “was lint, directed against her.”
Dr. ,Scliaeht, at the same time, hinted that t-ho Franco-Soviet pact was an obstacle to the harmonious progress of Fran co-German relations.
In a statement in Lc Soil’, Dr. Sehaeht referred to the cordial atmosphere at his conferences in Paris. Ho said the ice had been broken.
An authoritative spokesman, however, said that- Dr. Scha-cht appeared to be in too great a- hurry to assume that Franco already had swallowed Herr Hitlers army decree.
