The House ol Representatives to day considered the Health Department, estimates of £955,-131.
The Hon. P. Eraser, in reply to a question regarding the Government bounty to the Dunedin quadruplets, said the matter was bordering on the very grave problem of the Dominion’s population. The Government would have to face this subject, not, necessarily Ibis year, or next year, but in Ihe near future, and would have to endeavour to encourage larger families by the endowment of mothers or some other means. Otherwise, the position was bceotiuiilg iniliossible. The House adjourned lor luncheon.
