AIR SERVICE SCHEME
STEWART ISLAND LINK Support for a project sponsored by the Southland Aero Club to establish an air service between Stewart Island and the mainland was promised at a meeting of the executive of the Southland Progress League. A deputation from the dub waited on the league and explained the advantages that would accrue from the proposed service. The purchase of an amphibian machine was suggested, as it, would obviate the difficulty of securing a landing ground at Stewart (.-land, ft was claimed that the number of visitors to the island would increase if an air ser vice were started.
