OBITUARY
MRS. T. W. McKAY A former resident of Gisborne, .Mis. Mona Frances Evelyn McKay, died in Dargavillo yesterday, at. the early aga of 24 years. The late Mrs. McKay was a daughter of Mrs. Chapman, and the late Mr. Chapman, of Makaraka. She was born in Gisborne and received her education at the Mangapapa and Gisborne schools. At the ago of 20 years she went to live in Napier, where only 20 months ago her marriage took place to Mr. T. W. McKay. Her husband is engaged in an electrical business in Napier, but re cently has been working on a eontrac: in Dargavillo. There Mrs. McKay, who had accompanied her husband to North Auckland, contracted pneumonia and pleurisy, from which she failed to re cover.
To her husband and members of hot' fatnilv who remain to mourn their loss the deep sympathy of many friends will be extended. Resides her mother, she leaves two sisters. Mrs. Olson, Pietou, and Mrs. Dennett, Gisborne. and two brothers, Messrs. Reginald and Harold Chapman. Gisborne. The body will be brought from Dargaville for interment in Gisborne. A short service will lie held in Cochrane's private chapel. William street, at 1.45 p.m. to-morrow, after which the funeral will leave for Taruheru cemetery.
Mr. James Crawford, whose death occurred recently at the age of 75 years, had resided in Invercargill for over 70 years having arrived from Ballarat, Victoria, with his parents when he was three years old. His father was one of the pioneer coach drivers in the south.
