CAMPAIGN IN RUSSIA TREASON TRIAL SEQUEL BOLSHEVIK "OLD GUARD" THREAT TO TROTSKY (Klcc. Tol. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 26. ~> p.m.) MOSCOW. Aug. 25. Following the execution of the 16 men convicted at the treason trial, Moscow is awaiting ;v,illi concern, the Kremlin's next move in continuance of the Trotsky purge. A merciless extermination of additional leaders of the Bolshevik "old guard," on the ground of participation in terrorist plotting, is ihe expressed intention of the Government. It is not known whether Zinoviev and the others were shot together, or singly, or .whether they knew beforehand of the rejection of the appeals for mercy, or the time of their execution. The bodies have not been delivered to the relatives. Presumably they were cremated. Other suspects already are undergoing questioning, and followers of M. Leon Trotsky are being pursued throughout the country. Mass meetings of factory workers, have passed resolution threats against. Trotsky, ihe resolution stating: "Let not the thrice-damned Judas, Trotsky, rejoice that he has again evaded' punishment. The people's anger will catch him wherever he may be-."
