LAND TAX
PROPOSED PROTEST A decision to approach the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce and the Far piers' Union in order to secure a united conference for the purpose of framing a protest against the reintroduction of the graduated land tax was reached at a meeting of the Gisbonio and East Coast Sheepowncrs'' Union's executive, held yesterday afternoon. The proposal was advanced by Mr. P. F. Barker, and seconded by Mr. Lawsou Field, the mooting nominating Messrs; 0. 11. Williams and G. M. Reynolds as delegates to the proposed conference.
