EFFECTS .. TALK AT CONFERENCE YOSEMITE, Aug. 2fJ, I The Pacific Relations Conference today discussed Japanese expansion and the dislocating effect of. the rapid Japanese advance. The Japanese delegation ashed what right old established countries, whieh were beneficiaries from; a"similar advance in .the nineteenth century, had to impose a standard of legitimate.advance for new countries. The Australian tariff policy, as such.a limitation, was touched upon. ATTITUDE TO AUSTRALIA BAN ON WOOL SALES DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN LONDON, Aug. 21. The Financial News says that though the consequences of non-par-ticipation by the Japanese in the Australian wool sales are not.very clear, there is no reason, at the moment, to anticipate serious repercussions. "It is difficult' to see how Japan's action can permanently alter the world price structure," continues the Financial New.*. '' The facts suggest that Japan will not find the task of replacing Australian wool an easy one and she may be forced to revoke the decision before the end of the sales."
