SAFETY-GLASS ORDER
USE IN WINDSCREENS VEHICLES IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 20. Regulations issued by the Ministry of Transport make compulsory the fitting of safety-glass windscreens' on _ motor vehicles as from January 1, 1937. ' .All vehicles manufactured after 1931 are fitted with windscreens of the safety type, but it is estimated that some 600,000 private ami about 200,000 commercial vehicles at present on the road have ordinary glass screens, and probably 500,000'0f these will be continued on 'the road by owners who will have to have new windscreens fitted before the end of the year.
