NORTHAMPTONSHIRE FLAX

REVIVAL OF INDUSTRY NEW MILLS OPERATING (British Official Wireless.) Iked. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 20. An important stage in the. revival of the British flax industry was marked to-day by the starting up of electricallydriven machinery of the latest, design in. the de-seeding section of new flax miils at Billing, Northamptonshire. The mills, which will be in full operation by September 7, are part of a new industrial venture in association with a carefully-planned agricultural experiment in the same county. Six bundled acres have been sown with pedigree seed and despite adverse weather, a crop of exceptionally good quality has been harvested.
