SCHOOL CHILDREN'S BALL (Herald Correspondent.) Fuha Hall was packed on Thursday evening, when the school children's fancy dress ball was held. Every child attend ing the school was in fancy chess, and ilie judge* had a ditlicult t-ask in awarding prizes. The first part of the evening was taken up with the children's dances, the music being played by Miss N. Coates. .Mr. Sidney To La acted as M.C. for the children's part of the evening, and their dancing reflected .-real credit on the teachers. Miss Kippoiihorgor and Mr. Nieholls. Mesdames It. Scott, J. G. Appleton r.nd Stevens acted as judges of the fancy costumes and awarded prizes as follows: Senior girls best costume: Jean Cameron (cosier girl); most original, Bachel Newton (superstitions). Junior girls—best costume: Bom Bayley (Jingle Bells) : most original, Phyllis Peach (candlestick). Senior boys-best costume, Arthur Thompson (swagger): most original, Jim Drummond (Edmond's products). Junior boys —best costume, John Graham (costermonger) ; most, original, Jack August (Puha Women's Institute). Maori boy: Clarence (.'oilier (Bed Indian). Maori girl : \rlt Pun (Haw uiui girl) pan. .lean Cameron and John Graham (coster boy and girl). The children and adults were served with a delicious supper by the members of the school committee and parents. Mr. Cameron, chairman of the committee, thanked everyone for the interest they had taken in the function, which had proved such an outstanding success.
