SOVIET PRESS CRY HOSTILITY TO PLOTTERS CONFESSION BY WOMAN (Elec. Tel, Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 21, 3 p.m.) MOSCOW, Aug. 20. Admitting! complicity in the Zinoviev terrorist activities, Saionova Faivilovich, the. former wife of the accused Smirnov, gave evidence "I am as guilty as the 16 prisoners m the dock," she said. Smirnov, she added, when returning from abroad in 1931 informed Iho conspiracy centre that he had instructions from M. Leon Trotsky's son, Sedoff, to begin terrorist activities. A resolution was then passed to start a terror campaign beginning with M. Josef Stalin. Smirnov had said: "Stalin shall be killed." Smirnov gave evidence that the terror plan was Sedoff's idea and not M. Trotsky's. "I disagreed with Sedoff," he said. Confronted with a confession signed in prison, Smirnov smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Newspapers, to-day publish articles headed "Shoot the Reptiles." The confessions in the present trial implicate at least 15 others who are to be arraigned.
