A native of Oamarn, Mr. Emiel F. Davey, died a few days ago at the age of CO years. Mr. Davey started life as a sailmaker. Alter completing his apprenticeship, he visited Kngland and Switzerland, and on returning made his home in the North Island, first at Hawera. and then in Gisborne. More than 20 years ;igo. he returned 10 Oamaru, and took up a farm at Cave Valley, where he lived for five years. Ho then obtained property at Weston Park, and remained there for a, further five years before moving to town. He is survived by Mrs. Davey and two sons.
