' IMPREST SUPPLY BILL ALL STAGES PASSED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Legislative Council met at 10.30 to-day. The Imprest Supply Bill was received from the House of Representatives. The Hon. R. McCallum congratulated the Government on the buoyant state, of the country and pointed out that building activity had doubled in the year ending June last. He congratulated the Government on its decision not to borrow abroad, and said that credit in London should bo reserved for the time which might arrive when New Zealand would want to borrow for defence to help the mother country. He- urged the Government to reduce the sales tax as soon as possible.

Tho bill was put through all stages and passed and the council adjourned at 10.50 a.m.
