NUHAKA A. AND P. SOCIETY

PRESIDENT’S REPORT SMALL LOSS SHOWN (Herald Correspondent.) “In presenting to you the society’s thirty-second balance sheet and annual report, I regret to say that a loss of £8 5s 7d appeared for our last Show, but I think that members will agree that, owing to the inclement weather on that day, we are very fortunate it is not larger,” stated the president of the Nuliaka Agricultural and Pastoral Society, Air. K. Stewart, in his report, which will be presented at the annual meeting of the society on Saturday. Mr. Stewart adds that the better times the country is now enjoying, combined with the railway activities, no doubt will lie a great advantage to future shows. His term of office had been a very pleasant one, due to the loyal support and co-operation of officials and members. He very much regretted the departure of Mr. C. H. 'Fidswell, a past-president, who had been such a staunch worker and supporter of the society, and it had been decided to mako him a presentation at the annual meeting, at 3 o’clock, a function at which anyone interested might attend. He hoped that a large meeting would resultThe membership, fortunately, had been increased by five on last year, being now 764 subscribing members, nine 1 ife members, and three honourary members, a total ot 176. With the efforts of the judges, stewards, press and others, the work of the Show was greatly stimulated.
