A seaplane was called inlo commission to enable a Rotorua medical man, Dr. W. S’. Wallis, to return urgently to Rotorua from Great Barrier Island on Tuesday. Dr. Wallis, whose presence in Rotorua became necessary to attend a patient, was on holiday on the island. A seaplane from the Hobsonvillc Air Base, piloted by Flight-Lieutenant 8. Wallingford, arrived at- Port Fitzroy, Great Barrier Island, at 7.30 in the morning. Dr. Wallis embarked immediately and the seaplane proceeded to Rotorua, landing on the lake not long after 9 o’clock.
