ABEL TASMAN WRECK
FINDING OF INQUIRY NO BLAME ATTACHED (Por Tress Association.) GBEYM'OUTTI, .'last night. In its decision concerning the stranding of the steamer Abel Tasman at. Greymonth in .lime, the .Marine Court, of Inquiry says:—• “We desire to observe that the port appears to have readied ti.e limit as to the size of the bigger Hass of .ships. 11 is considered that, (he former prateice id' easing off the stern instead of binding it to the wharf is worthy of a further trial. “Viewing the whole evidence and circumstances, we are unable to tind that the casualty was caused or contributed to by the wrongful act or default of the master or any of the crew or by the Harbour Board and its officials or any other person. The master’s and first officer’s certificates were returned. Xo order as to the payment of costs is made.”
