REDUCTION OF HOURS
CREWS OF BRITISH SHIPS
WAGES NOT AFFECTED

Tho Sun-Herald News Service says that as a result of the agreement between the shipowners and the National Union of Seamen, the working hours of thousands of British seamen are being reduced from 84 hours to 56 hours a Hveek, without reduction of pay, from January 10.
This applies to all dock workers, excluding navigating officers and wireless operators, on all ships exceeding tons. Negotiations have not been completed regarding the engine-room, stokehold, and catering departments.
