A discussion on the church's attitude to war took place at a meeting of the Bay of Plenty Presbytery in Whalcatane. The Eev. J. Crawford McCaw, of Te Puke, moderator, presided. It was decided that the presbytery should support the attitude that Christian men and women should seek by every effort to make and to maintain peace, but that if war is forced upon them they should take up arms.
