U.S. SENATOR DEAD
ROOSEVELT SUPPORTER
(Reed. June 18,11 a.m.) > WASHINGTON, June 17. Senator Duncan U. Fletcher, a Democrat from Florida, and one of Mr. Roosevelt's staunchest supporters, died to-day, aged 76 years.
Born in 1859, the late Senator Fletcher was educated at the University of Tennessee, graduating B.Sc. and LL.D. He practised as a barrister and in 1893 entered the Florida. House of Representatives. In the same year be became Mayor of Jacksonville. He was appointed to the Senate in 1909.
