Seeking to sfimulate.-the birthrate, He'rr Eeirihardt, of.the Finance Ministry, announces State 'grants of 10 murks monthly for the fifth and every additional child under 10 years of age in families whose income does not 'exceed 18.' marks monthly.
It is estimated that 400,000 children will be involved, and that, the scheme will cost 48,000,000 marks a year. This scheme is to operate "as from July, and will supplement the system of nonrecurrent grants to large families which hitherto have cost 7.1,000,000 marks yearly. Six hundred thousand loans, totalling 340,000,000 marks,, have been made to assist couples to marry.
