DAIRYING INDUSTRY
NATIONAL ASSO<NATION
(Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day
The sixth annual meeting of. the National Dairv Association was held here, this morning," Mr. A. Morton presiding over a large attendance. The chairman said that the total volume of trading was rather less than in the previous year, the chief reason being that, owing to a dry autumn in the seasod before the last, a number of factories carried over part of their stocks, with a. resulting decrease in indent orders. However, the year's results were satisfactory, so much so that the association was able to increase the depreciation payments and to pay a rebate at the same rate as the previous year of 3 per cent on purchases. The association had £30.000 worth of machinery on order, which showed that Factories were modernising their plants and preparing to handle an increased output. Tilings were much better than they had been, and it looked as though good times were ahead, said Mr. Morton.
The report stated that the profit and loss account showed a credit of £220 !0s 6VI.
- The following retiring directors, were elected to the executive: Messrs. James Cotter (Aucklnndh J. G. Brechin (Wellington), and A. Morton (Taranaki).
