MURDERER'S REGRETS
DISHONOUR AND SORROW
WARNING TO YOUTH
SYDNEY, June 15.
James Leighton Massey, aged 27 years, who was hanged at the Long Bay gaol this morning for the murder of Norman Samuel Stead, aged 17 years, at Darlinghurst on the night of February 10, left a statement for publication expressing deep regret for the pain, dishonour and sorrow he:had brought on his wife,, father and mother and the terrible bereavement in the family of the man he murdered. "I pray that my desperate position and poor reparation may prove a warning to youth of my age not to neglect those things that count for a Christian life and conduct," added Massey.
