ENGINEER'S REPORT The following report was presented by the engineer. Mr. King : '".Secondary highways.—Over 200yds of Napier metal have come to hand and have been spread on the Tolaga-Tau-whareparae highway. The top lengths of Bariram's Hill has been topdressed with Dtiwa River shingle. "Ridings.—Arakihi: The new metal oa Ihe Kiore road has been rolled and the topdressing rolled in. A considerable amount of extra, surface work litis been necessitated on Black's road, ilauiti: A small amount of topdressing with beach single has been done on the Waihau road. It is proposed to topdress a further length with Panikau metal. Mangaheia : The only work is the concreting of the road node? the waterfall in the (•'orge. .Mangatuna: The turning places on the Wharekaka road have been repaired. Tauwhareparae: Surfacework fias been attended to. A short length of the slip on Caldwell's Hill has been metalled. Slips are being removed on the Huaniri length. Tolagii: Topdressing lias been carried out on Forster street. "Main roads. —Further shingle lias been carted out, from Thomas' pit and also from the Apple Tree crossing beyond Mangatuna School."
