YOUNG MAN IN TROUBLE
BISORiDERLY CONDUCT
(Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. Victor Thomas Manssen, aged 21 years, was to-day fined £5, in default 14 clays'. gaol, by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., for disorderly conduct, and was also convicted and subjected to a similar' penalty for assaulting Constable Fleming in the execution iof his duty. Counsel for the accused said the. occasion was his twenty-first birthday, and he had had some drink.
The magistrate, -intimated that in view of the previous good character of the accused'-ne would not inflict imprisonment, but ; he would. certainly impose a penalty - that would remind the accused of .his twentyrfirst birthday.
