BANK ROBBED OF £7500
SENSATION AT MANGAWEKA TELLER UNDER ARREST (Per Prose Ansociation.) VVANGANUI, las! night. On Friday la-r-t it was discovered thJit Ih<; sum of, £7i>oo was missing from the strong room oi' the Bank of Ww Zealand at Mangawekn and a complaint was lodged with fho police. Detective-.Sergeaut .1. K. Robertson and Detective James Murray, both of Wangniiui, made inquiries and to-day a single man, Maurice Rdwnrd Alexander, ilgod '■'•-, employed as a teller in the bank, was arrested and appeared before a just ice of Ihe peace and charged I lint, on .lime 10, being a servant in the employ of the bank, lie did steal the sum of money the property of the bank. The accused was remanded to appear at Wnngnnui to-morrow. It is understood that the whole of the money has been recovered.
