The death of Dr. (J. K. Chesterton has .occurred. He was 62 years of age.
A famous English author and journtdist. Gilbert Keith Chesterton, LL.D., D.l.itt.. was born in London in. 1074. While attending classes at (he Slade •School lie began reviewing art books for the Bookman and' the Speaker, and subsequently he contributed lo practically all of the leading London periodicals and to American' magazines and became the editor of G.K.'s Weekly. During the last ,30 years he has written manv books dealing in •licliou, as well as historical ami biographical studies. Among the most popular of his publications are the "Father Brown" stories. (he first of which, "The Innocence of Fat her "Brown." appeared 1 in 1911, lo be followed by "The Wisdom of Father Brown" in 19f4. "The Incredibility of Father Brown," in 1926. "The Secret of Father Brown," in 1027, and "The Manila] of Father Brown," in 3935.
