While attending classes at (he Slade •School lie began reviewing art books for the Bookman and' the Speaker, and subsequently he contributed lo practically all of the leading London periodicals and to American' magazines and became the editor of G.K.'s Weekly. During the last ,30 years he has written manv books dealing in •licliou, as well as historical ami biographical studies. Among the most popular of his publications are the "Father Brown" stories.
