TWO BODIES FOUND
WAIRARAPA TRAGEDY YOUNG MEN IN LAGOON PLANE DIRECTS SEARCH (Per Press Association.) CARTERTON, this day. The search for the. bodies of the two young men. who were, drowned in a lagoon at Whareroto was successful this morning. , The body of Mr. Hector Donald, or Feathersion, aged 20 years, was recovered 30yds from the shore clad an a leather Jacket and a shirt. The theory is that he stripped off and went to the assistance of his companion, Mr. Murdoch McLeod. The water, at the spot where the bodv was recovered, was 20ft. deep. The body was located by a plane driven by Mr. Keith MeMast'er, and was recovered by drags.
The body of Mr Murdoch McLeod, of Maryborough, aged 20 years, was recovered later, the time being before noon. It was about 20yds from the other body on a line parallel to, the shore. Mr.. McLeod's bodv was fully, clothed, except for gumboots. " Mr. McLeod was wearing a loaded cartridge belt.
