The Labour Party leader in the House of Commons, Major C. R. Alice, speaking at Oxford in reply to a suggestion that the Labour Party should state its policy with regard to the monarchy, said he did not believe that would be the right tactics. The Labour Party, lie said, should tackle first things'first. The leading questions were peace and poverty. Answering the criticism that the Labour Party members of the House of CotmiLones were too old, he suggested pensions be provided for Parliamentarians.
