RECENT SPEECH SEQUEL ' '" TAURANGA'S M.P. An echo of a speech made by Mr. C. 11. Burnett, Labour M.P. for Tauranga, i:i the House of Representatives recently was heard on Sunday when the Te Aroha committee discussed the ' matter with him. Many rumours regarding his future standing in the Labour Party have been cu; rent in the electorate. •, Mr. Burnett met the committee of the party and loft immediately at the conclusion of the meeting. Something in the nature of a surpriso.wa.s caused in the House of Representatives recently when Mr. Burnett frankly criticised the provisions in the Transport Licensing Amendment Bill which constitute the Minister of Transport as the final Court ol Appeal in all transport licensing cases. Mr. Burnett's criticism of the appeal provisions in'the bill was made during the third reading debate.
