WELLINGTON, this day. ■ Charged with 'Unlawfully landing in New Zealand, Joseph Mahoney, aged 2£j years, an able seaman, who was sentenced on May 2 to one month's gaol for assaulting an officer on his ship, the Golden Bear, while he was attempting to hold, down a pedigree 'bull, to-day was charged before Mr. W. F. Stillwell, S.M., with unlawfully landing in New Zealand while a prohibited immigrant. Accused was ordered to be deported and leave by the Golden Cloud to-morrow, remaining in custody in the meantime."
