CRAWFORD STRIKES FORM TRAINING IN AMERICA NEW YORK, May 2d. A message from Germantown states that the Australian tennis player. Crawford, showed his linost. lorm ot the training period to-day in taking two practice sets from McGrath. lie had more power in his game than before and showed good speed on hb service stroke. He got a beautiful depth with hfs* ground strokes; Much of the time he had McGrath waging combat from behind the base line. Crawford’s backhand was also working nicely. Quist and Sproulo were engaged in several practice sets this morning. To-morrow, both the Australians and the Americans will play on the grandstand centre court.
