Et'OMRK PARTY & DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) The third night of a series of euchre parties and dances was held in the Kai-t-iralahi Halt on Tuesday evening. A pleasant time was spent, and keen interest was taken in the euchre tournament, the winners being as follow:—Ladies.— Mrs. M. Drown; runner-up, Miss L. iluru. (fontlemon.—Mr. M. Miillooly: runner-up, Mr. 11. Tuapawa. After a dainty supper had been served dancing was enjoyed until midnight to music supplied by Miss Lena Rum. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. W. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. L. Crosswell. Mr. and Mrs. W. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. A. Young, Mr. and Mrs. A. liuekiiig)i:iiii; Mesdnmes (!. .limes, 0. Croon. S. Sydney. \V. Comm. M. Brown, and \Y. Lovelock; Misses A. Vonng, lb Croon. M. Cmsswel! and K. Young. Workmen are at present reinforcing the Knitaratalii bridge, which was recently damaged as. a result of a motor accident. It is hoped 1 that the repairs will be purely of a temporary nature and that the Main Highways Board may see its way clear to reinstate the present wooden structure with a modern concrete bridge in the near future. It should he borne in mind that this bridge carries all Ira Hie to and from Auckland and a, continued deviation of traffic at any lime, as a result of the bridge being closed again, may result in loss to Gisborne people Unfavourable weather has hampered shooting in this district, but nevertheless several good bags have been collected in the past week.
