On Tuesday afternoon the Tolaga Bay Girl-Guide'committee held a meeting to enable Guides and their friends to hear a report on the Guide camp at Otimai from the Misses Mary and Jean Milne, the' guiders who returned last week.' Eight Guides made the journey by car from Gisborne to Auckland, where they were met by, 17 others, some of whom came from as far smith as Christchurch. From Auckland the troop, under Mi?* A? M. Btihgin, New Zealand 'training commissioner, went out to Otimai. the picturesque Guide camjl situated in tlm Waitakereltanges. Everyone' prdsent at the meeting listened interestedly to a full report of th*' Chides’ activities while in camp. One portion of their visit which parti, eul’arly impressed the Tolaga Bay Giiidiers was an Evening walk to the peak known as 1 “The Topi of the World,” where they had n {beautiful view of the lights of Auckland and its environs. A “bring und\buy” stall which proved very successful was held to augment- the Guide funds, arid during the afternoon Mrs.' Jh Watson entertained the assembly with a song. Following tho •ervisg of a' dainty afternoon tea, the sidairtg of “God SaVe the King” brought a in|li?eetlng afternoon to a close.
