WAIKOHU COUNTY OR. FRASER CHAIRMAN’ The Wnikohu County Council at t hi annual meeting to-day re-elected Or A. A. Fraser as chairman, unopposed. Cr. H. .1. F. Tombleson expressed np predation of the manner in which Cr. Fraser had carried out his duties during the past term. The officers were re-appointed, and a motion passed- rescinding the 10 per cent cut in salaries, wages and travelling allowances. The meeting date was fixed for the second Tuesday in the month.

He. described the 40-hour week as impractical and impossible, and added that no council could afford to pay double rates to get roads cleared on .Sundays or holidays.
