MURIWAI NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) It is with regret that the people of the district have learnt of the departure of Miss In a- Richardson from Munwai. Miss Richardson, who has been assistant teacher at the school for the last two ycal’s, has taken up a. position at the lvaiti School. Another impending departure is that of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Riddell ana thenson Henry. Air. and Airs. Riddell, who have resided in Muriwai for the past 13 years, are leaving at an early date to take up their residence in Hawke’s Bay. This will he a distinct loss to the district as both Mr. and Airs. Riddell have taken a keen interest in the affairs of the district during the time spent in Muriwai. Mr. Riddell is chairman of the Muriwai School Committee and has served on this committee previously. It, is intended to hold a Bachelors Ball early next month in the Muriwai Hall. An enthusiastic meeting was held, as a result of which arrangements are well forward.
A successful dance was held in the Muriwai Hall on Saturday evening to augment the funds of the Muriwai Tennis Club.
Miss I. Richardson has been spending the school vacation with Airs. Newton, Whangara, and with friends in Gisborne. —Mrs. J. M. Clark and Airs. A. M. ATalone and family, Auckland, and Aliss I, M. Clark, Ohakune, have been staying in Muriwai.—Miss D. N. G. Williams, Ngatapa, has been appointed relieving assistant at the school. —Airs. AI. B. Faulkner, Wairakaia, who returned to Aluriwai for a short stay, is leaving for Hastings, accompanied by her son, Mr. lan Faulkner.
