Tom Caldwell’s twenty-firs! birthday. The livingroom looked very gay with bowls, oi purple irises, chrysanthemums, golden gleam nasturtiums, and mixed bowls ol Mexican sunflowers ami Guinea 'Golds. A huge log tire added to the attraction of the room.

All the guests had to arrive in someone else's clothes or some amusing costume. Mrs. R,. C. Take received the prize for the best, ladies costume, and Mr. .Matthew Sherwood-Hal© lor the best men's. Many amusing games were played and dancing also took place on the verandah. Community singing was much enjoyed. A delicious supper was served by the hostess, who was assisted by her daughters, the .Misses .Meg, Wendy and Judith Caldwell. The hostess received her guests wearing a brown silk niarocuin frock relieved with beige.
