CHOKED BY APPLE
DEATH OF AN INFANT An infant aged one year and nine months died at Dunedin on Saturday afternoon through being choked bv a piece of apple lodging in the throat. The child, William Andrew Timms, had just been bathed by his mother, and she gave him an apple to eat. When the child showed signs of distress the parents endeavoured without success to remove the obstruction and then hurried to a doctor for assistance., but when they returned with tlie doctor the child was dead. A certificate of the cause of death was furnished by the doctor and an inquest was not necessary.
