BACK BROKEN IN FALL RIDER BREAKS COLLARBONE When lie fell while contesting the Waikato Steeplechase at To Rapa on Saturday Ilasouli broke his back and bad to ho destroyed. llis rider. R. Beale, bad bis collarbone broken. Rasottli stood right on his head and turned a complete somersault at the post and rails in the second round, interfering with Dimnond as ho fell. At the time lie was racing on terms in the load with Thespis and Diamond and was going exceptionally veil. Until ho made the mistake he had given a. brilliant exhibition of jumping. Rasottli was an aged gelding by Bernard from Gipsy’s Warning and was strongly fancied for the Gnat Northern Steeplechase, lie was a fine hurdler before being tried at steepleehasing and he showed promise of being! well above Bio average as a ’chaser, winning the Egmrmt Steeplechase very easily at his
