The financial position of the Winter Show during the past three years is shown in the following table, in which figures for the first; year, 1922, aiul also for the peak year of 1929 are given:—

Entries in the canary and cage bird section also have increased by nearly f>o per cent., from IOP last year to 150. The display of birds forms one of the most interesting sec tions, and will be open to the public during the first two days. The dogs will replace the birds at the end of the week, and a satisfactory increase has been achieved here also, entries rising from 130 last year to I*o this week.

The home industries, home products nn d needlework seelions, contributed to almost enti re 1 y I) y women, comprise Sfi2 entries, and with a large proportion of women in other sections, it is safe to say that more than half of the exhibitors in the whole Show are women. Over 100 entries are those of children, including , n ,n.S in the schools section alone, and this leaves the men distinctly in the minority.
