EAST OF DOMINION
YESTERDAY'S EARTHQUAKE (Per Prosa Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An earthquake, with its centre of origin 280 miles away to tlie east of New Zealand, occurred at 3.3 a.m. yesterday morning. It approached figuvo 5 on the RossiForel scale. An examination of the record on the seismograph at the Dominion Observatory indicates that the 'quake was fairly deep-seated. The estimated distance is corroborated by the fact thai it was felt with varying intensity over a wide area of the Dominion.
