PEACE DEMONSTRATION
RIOT AMONG STUDENTS POLICE INTERVENE NEW YOB.K, April 24. A half-million students who went on strike yesterday in a nation-wide, peace demonstration saw disorders break out on tit least, live- campuses while they were pledging themselves against war. Communists, tiled to invade the demonstration at Thomas Jefferson. High School here, and police were called to remove their platform, which was erected 'five feet from the students' rostrum. A tear gas bomb exploded in the rally of University of Kansas students at Law rence College, Applet on,- Wis. Unsympathetic students at Temple University. Philadelphia, pelted pacifistie brothers with vegetables and fried lo fear down their platform. Police broke up rioting students at James Monroe High School here, bid the students were allowed to reassemble at the request, of school officials.
