COLLISION WITH ENGINE
MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED (P«r Press AsHOciation.) CHRISTCHURCH, last Jiight, Reginald Forster Painter, 27, single, a carpenter, of Da r field, received fatal head injuries when he. collided with a train at a crossing in the eent.ro of Rakain township yesterday afternoon. Painter, who was riding a motor' cycle, was returning from n football match in Rakaia, and went through a gap in some trucks. Shunting was being done, at the station, and although Painter was travelling very slowly lie hit. an engine passing on another line of rails. He could not. save himself, and it is tho\ight that his head struck the engine about the firebox. Painter died 40 minutes after the accident.
