SUSPENSION OF LICENSE CONVICTED MOTORIST (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, lust night. Iu the Supreme Court to-day Mr. Justice .Smith heiiril nn appeal by I'-'iul Stafford Uillingham, public accountant, against an order suspending his license to drive a motor car for a period of three mouths. The ground of the appeal was that, the penalty imposed by the magistrate was disproportionate to the offence charged against, the appellant. Evidence was given by a tratlic in- j specter that defendant had driven on the llutt road at a speed of 50 miles ! an hour. The court in its judgment reduced the period of suspension of his drivers license from three months to one week. Mr. Justice. Smith said that as the appellant- had already had that period of suspension, lie would thus slider 110 further penalty. The magistrate's order was varied accordingly, and the appeal was allowed.
