(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this dayThe. third Dunedin wool sale of the season opened this morning, 28,317 bales being ottered. The opening catalogues sold under exceptionally keen conditions, brokers considering if so far the best sale in the Dominion series. While Continental buyers, including Germany, operated just as freely as r.t the earlier auctions, Bradford operators, who recently appeared to have restricted limits, were bidding much more elastically and securing a much larger proportion ol' the offerings.

Prices all round showed an appreciable advance. Halfbreds were up fully Id to 2Jd on the last Dunedin sale. Crossbreds and tine crossbreds were up Id.

The top prices of the first catalogues were 19jd for four bales of super (Torriedale ewe from the Waikaka district, and 19]d for four hales of super halfbred wether from the Wilden estate

There was a moderate selection, consisting chiefly of New Zealand crossbreds. There was active home competition. Continental buyers were reserved pending political developments. Apart from rather frequent withdrawals of low greasy crossbreds, a, good clearance was effected at generally par to 5 per cent, above last series. New Zealand l sales: Greasy crossbred, Tipua, top lfljjd, average lOjd.
