CATTLE BAN
MOVEMENTS STOPPED
LONDON, Jan. IS.
A prohibition against the movement of animals by road through an area in three West of England counties was issued last night by the Ministry of Agriculture in the following statement: —
"The existence of foot-and-mouth disease was confirmed among cattle and pigs at Christian Malford, Chippenham, Wilts. An order is now in foree prohibiting the movement, except by license, of all cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and doer within approximately 15 miles of the infected premises.
"The area subject to these restrictions lies in the counties of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Somerset."
