HIGH COMMISSIONER
CHURCH OF SCOTLAND
LONDON, Feb. 4
Owing to court mourning, King George's wish that the Duke of Gloucester follow his brother, the Duke of Kent, as lord high commissioner of the Church of Scotland will probably not be carried out. A commoner will likely be selected for the post, which was filled in 1920 by the Duke of York and in 1933-34 by Lord Tweedsmuir, the present Governor-General of Canada.
